Sea Kayaking
Sea Kayak Trips
Spectacular views and wildlife
We provide sea kayak trips, tuition, evening paddles and
overnight camps to suit individual or larger group needs. We cater
for absolute beginners, as well as those with experience.
Visit secret places only accessible by small craft, gaze at the
spectacular cliffs, explore the colourful marine caves and observe
the seals, birds and marine life unobtrusively, whilst looking
out for Basking Sharks feeding en route!

A typical sea kayak trip could be:
Starting at Peel Castle we journey south beneath the
towering cliffs, admiring the vivid rock formations and exploring
the sea caves. We enjoy seal colonies and abundant bird life,
including Guillemots, Shags and in the nesting season, Puffins!
Then its time to turn around and reversing the original route,
seeing the coastline from yet another angle.
See the Calendar for details
of Sea Kayak Trips and evening paddles from locations around the
Manx coastline. Typically three hours in duration, from meeting at
the beach 'til returning to the put-in.

Full Day Trips
Typically six hours from meeting to finish, including lunch on a
remote beach.
A typical full day trip
could be :
Starting at Peel Castle, we follow a similar route to the above
sea kayak trip! Continuing South past Glenmaye for Lunch at Niarbyl
'the tail of rocks' and see the little thatched cottage and
surrounding spectacular coastal views made famous by the film
'Waking Ned'. Packing away the flasks we get underway, paddling
past the rounded headlands, rocky shores, stacks and intermittent
caves, toward Bradda Head and the Calf of Man.
Arriving at the sandy bay overlooked by Port Erin and pulling the
kayaks up the beach we taste a delicious Manx Ice Cream from the
Parlour by the shore.
Calf of Man Tidal Races and Overfalls
Kayak around the awesome Calf of Man, arguably the Island's most
beautiful and naturally spectacular location.
Led by a highly qualified and experienced BCU coach, the day trip
involves paddling through the tidal races and Overfalls, observing
the hugh seal colonies and abundant wild and marine life, where
recorded sightings of many rare birds, and even Minke Whales and
Orcas have been noted.
