Standard Terms and Conditions

An Explanation

Adventurous Experiences are committed to providing a personalised and friendly customer focused service. Our staff are highly trained professionals who take your safety, enjoyment and learning needs seriously.
As an Adventure Sports Centre delivering a high quality service product, we enjoy an excellent relationship with our students, and strive to uphold this. The following is the fair and straight forward system we operate, which we hope is common sense.
General Expectations
Adventurous Experiences work closely with the local environment, including wild and marine life, weather and sea conditions, as well as other users of the outdoors. We have your safety and enjoyment as a priority, and as our working environment changes constantly, we require a flexible attitude and understanding to our decision making.
Decision making is the core of good leadership, which in turn brings about positive, memorable and often unforgettable adventurous experiences. Our coaches are trained, experienced and qualified professionals and require a mutual respect from our customers.
It may be necessary to change location or route, and in rare circumstances the date of your chosen activity in order to provide an experience suited to yours and your group's ability level, experience and level of excitement required.
If external factor's such as weather conditions, mean we are unable to provide a safe, fun, learning experience on the booked date we have agreed with you, we will offer an alternative date or a full refund.
We require those partaking in the experience to have an attitude and physical ability suited to the activity. Influence of alcohol, drugs or an unsafe attitude will result in cancellation of the activity without refund.
Making a Booking
In order to make a booking with Adventurous Experiences, we require full payment at the time of booking, unless the proposed activity is more than 12 weeks prior to the booking date. Bookings taken more than 12 weeks in advance may, at the discretion of Adventurous Experiences, require 50% of the total booking price, and the balance due 4 weeks prior to the activity date, or the full amount as standard.
A provisional booking may be taken which indicates that the session you wish to book is available at that time. A provisional booking is not a guaranteed reservation of the activity date, as the date may still be taken by a different party who wishes to make a confirmed booking.
Payment
Full payment is required to confirm a booking.
Please read our acknowledgement of risk document before making your booking. Payment can be made by the following means;
Direct Bank Transfer - we will be pleased to provide details on request
Credit Card - we accept credit / debit cards over the phone, or by calling into our office.
We reserve the right to charge a nominal charge of £3 per transaction for card payments.
In addition to the above methods of payment, you can pay with your Credit or Debit card via the website using PayPal secure online transaction services to purchase our Gift Vouchers online.
Cheque - payable to Adventurous Experiences Ltd (if payment is a minimum 5 days prior to activity)
Cash - call into Adventurous Experiences base at Ballabrooie.

Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation of a confirmed booking, we would appreciate advance notice as bookings cannot necessarily be replaced at short notice, and refunds may not be given. The following is what you can expect should you need to make a cancellation, (individuals).
Minimum of 8 weeks prior to activity date                            90% Refund
Minimum of 4 weeks prior to activity date                            75% Refund
Minimum of 5 days prior to activity date                               50% Refund
Less than 5 days prior to activity date                                  no Refund
Group Bookings
Cancellations of confirmed group bookings (bookings which have received group discount) are priced at a special rate and have their own terms and conditions. These include corporate events and training. We try to accommodate changes to confirmed bookings where possible.
Group bookings are priced as a whole group, with a specified maximum number of persons on that booking. The price will not be adjusted or refunds given if numbers reduce or individuals cancel who are part of a confirmed group booking.  Cancellations by a group less than 2 weeks prior to activity date will receive no refund. If more than 2 weeks notice is given a 50% refund may be given, at the discretion of Adventurous Experiences.
In extenuating circumstances, we may offer a gift voucher for the booked activity, valid for 3 months from original activity date, in the event of a legitimate reason for cancellation. This is entirely at the discretion of Adventurous Experiences, and is not a right of the group or any of the individuals who make up that group.

Adventure Club & Special Events

Adventure Club sessions may be used against any scheduled activities we provide, except special events. Sessions are for the sole use of the individual member who holds an in-date membership, or stipulated members in the case of family or corporate memberships.

Day activities such as full day trips, rock climbing days, or extended Coasteering sessions use 2 adventure club sessions.

Offers through and part of the Adventure Club may not be used in conjunction with other offers, such as the Isle of Man Adventure Week, the Isle of Man Sea Kayak Symposium, (or any part of these events) multi-day trips, courses or mini-expeditions, as these are already priced at special rates.

There are no refunds offered for cancellations of Adventure Club memberships or membership offers, or any Special Events including those stated above and below. The standard cancellation rules apply to Adventure Club sessions and you will be debited a session from your credit if suitable notice of cancellation is not provided.

Courses which include multiple sessions must be used within a three month period from the booked start date.

Gift Vouchers
Our gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from purchase date.
We reserve the right not to redeem vouchers after their expiry date.
Vouchers for a specific activity may be used against a different activity of the same value, at the discretion of Adventurous Experiences. Gift vouchers may not be used against Special Events.
Activity Duration
Adventurous Experiences will be at the activity location on time. As you may be part of a larger group, late arrival may result in missing the activity, and we will assume a short notice cancellation with no refund.
We give a typical activity duration as guidance for each experience we deliver, and we aim to follow it.
However, as our experiences are tailored to the group, and the individuals within that group, activity durations will vary. By purchasing an Adventurous Experience with us, we agree to deliver an experience suited to the ability of the group in relation to conditions on that day.
As the customer, you have not purchased a set period of activity time.
We endeavour to treat everyone as individuals and therefore we reserve the right to refer customers to these terms and conditions where necessary.
