Explore the mighty Sognefjord
by sea kayak, using Nigel Dennis Kayaks and led by qualified guides.
Starting within its 185km length, the trip will follow Norway’s
longest and very impressive fjord to the sea, visiting locations
only accessible by kayaks, taking in the impressive waterfalls,
awesome views and keeping a look out for whales, dolphins, porpoises
and abundant bird life.
Norway’s spectacular western
coast, with its plentiful fishing and whale sighting, also holds
Scandinavia’s most Western land points, Sula and surrounding
smaller islands. The trip will explore the islands, before returning
up the Sognefjord to finish the kayaking part of the expedition.
Paddles and kayaks will be swapped
for hiking boots and rucksacks, and the mountain walking trip
will begin. The Jotunheimen National park is the location of Norway’s
highest mountain range, and its stunning beauty will be viewed
from known trails, the two highest of which summit at 2500m.
The
last part of the expedition will be spent camping out on the glacier,
when a mixture of relaxation on the rocks at camp, and ice climbing
and trekking give a mind blowing experience. Sunsets, ice formations,
and excitement make for the excellent photo opportunities.
Breathtaking scenery and plenty of exertion
are a certain promise, and will guarantee this expedition will
give an unforgettable, adventurous experience!
We are taking reservations for the next Norway
Expedition in Summer 2008, cost estimated at £1700.
